About

As you already know, I'm Hugo. I'm married to Sandra and have three kids, Luísa, Eduardo, and Leonor. I was born in Pombal, a small town in Portugal, and moved to Lisbon to study at University. I've been in love with this city since then and never left.

When I was young, I wanted to be an architect and later an advertiser. It was only after graduating in Public Relations and Advertising, that I discovered the magic of the internet and started working on digital projects, playing with Flash, Actionscript, and XML.

For the past 15 years, I've been working on large-scale digital projects in various roles such as an Information Architect, UX Designer, UX Researcher, and most recently, as a User Experience Manager at NOS Technology.

NOS Technology is the IT company of NOS, one of the largest Portuguese telecom companies and my story here started in 2011, when I joined as an Usability Analyst, as a team of one, handling tasks such as UX research, UX design, and front-end development. Working on responsive websites using HTML, CSS, and a bit of javascript.

Since then, I have been able to build and lead a talented team of 18 UXers (UX Researchers, UX/UI Designers, and UX Writers) and Frontend Developers, working together to create amazing user experiences that make people's lives easier and more enjoyable.
